Learning and Serving

This past week we commenced our academic classes with Introduction to Theology and Introduction to the Holy Scriptures. Our teachers, who are mainly American, work for the various Congregrations of the Faith at the Vatican & it is a privilege to be taught by them. Classes are always engaging and it is interesting to have discussions from our various international and cultural perspectives! We also began our Italian tuition and I hope to make good use of it at our Compassion Service next week. Every week we spend half a day doing Compassion or pastoral work. My project is assisting at a local hospital for the elderly. On Friday we took the World Youth Day Cross from the San Lorenzo Youth Centre to the streets prior to the International Youth Mass. In the course of our evangelisation we sang & played music while meeting & praying with many pilgrims and tourists, a real joy. We are also preparing for our Mission in Dublin which will be from the start of Advent for almost 2 weeks (26th November – 8th December) so I can’t wait for that – it will be great to be on mission in Ireland!
