The Leinster GAA Football Final was such a great occasion witnessing Westmeath’s wonderful triumph over Dublin. The atmosphere was electric especially in extra-time when the Westmeath supporters knew victory was assured and a great outpouring of emotion followed the final hooter.
On Friday 8 May I took part in the Leixlip 5k Road Race, my first race in 9 months. It challenged me to give my all and strive for the finish line—and to enter that space of gratitude—praying for the grace to keep striving towards God in the spiritual life—and persevering to use my gifts to share the light and make life fruitful and worthwhile.
On Sunday 3 May I attended the Leinster GAA Senior Football Championship Semi-Final between Westmeath and Kildare. It was a fantastic occasion to witness the celebrations that took place on the pitch amongst players and supporters as the final hooter sounded and the Lake County celebrated this famous win.
My recent cycle in the sun was a self care practice that soothed my soul and reminded me that while the past will always live in me as memories; I can break the habit of dwelling on it by focusing on the name of Jesus, and asking the Holy Spirit to ‘show me the way where I belong’.
I recently attended a Personal Development Workshop for Runners of all levels. Taking part in the workshop challenged me to reset my priorities and focus on how running can be a meditation and therapeutic practice for the mind that can help us check in with our emotions; and how it can also be a spiritual practice that has the capacity to take us to the home of soul.
